The Junior Slingshot Class intended for drivers from ages 8 to 14,with some even younger getting behind the wheel have made these young pedal pushers into bonafide stars at their respective tracks and on the National Tour. This class has grown to many parts of the country and Canada. 2017 Junior National Champion Shelby McLaughlin has become a fan favorite at her weekly Hamlin Speedway stop and on many of the National Series races with a tour win at Snydersville Speedway in 2018. Kasey Hufcut has become the driver to beat at Oakland Valley Speedway and Tyler Ulsh has propelled himself onto the spotlight with some recent strong runs at Action Track USA and the Junior tour stops. In the midwest Mason Stockhausen looks to be at the top of his game at Mississippi Thunder with southern racers at Flomaton Speedway, NW Florida Speedway and Southern Speedway having quite a few talented young drivers to enjoy watching. Abbey Cauley,Brent Cartwright and Dakota Fox have found podium finishes throughout the 2018 season down in the Sunshine Region. Not being left out are the racers in the North Dakota area as Taylor Klein, Keenan Glasser,Gavin Edinger and Joseph Banish have been getting victory lane attention in that area. At nearby Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon,MN the big 3 look to be Joseph and Noah Lewis with Sierra Staff getting in the mix. Up in Maple Leaf country it looks like the Junior Class has really propelled many of the young drivers to take on the demanding Estevan Motor Speedway with Ryder Raynard,Jesse Gibson and Ty Saxon giving the fans a show for their money. The east side of Canada has seen 3 driver emerge as frontrunners with Bryan Preville, Raphael Gougeon and Eliot Gamache currently atop the Maple Leaf Junior National Series points. Not to be counted out wherever they are competing are Aiden Donaldson, Glen Ridge runner Matt Backus, Aidan Elliott,Brian Smith,Davin Davis,Haylee Hopkins and Lillie Strehlow.At Button Buck Speedway it’s looking like a 3 man showdown on the smaller inner track with Koby Wagner,Tucker Jacobs and Chris Parmenter showing the way. Shellhammers Speedway has seen 2 talents rise to the top on the challenging high banked 1/8th mile in Leesport,PA with Trent Warner and Jax Yohn swapping wins during their Saturday nights on the speedway.
