The remaining National Series races could impact the final outcome of the World Championship points as quite a few drivers are farther up in the tour points than at their weekly track and their final finishing position could alter the standings.
If you are a weekly track champion you will get 120 bonus points. If you are a regional champion and not a weekly track champion, those points would be used and that would be 120 points as well. The system will then breakdown like the Speedway Entertainment points are offered. There will be quite a bit of work to make sure we have the best points finish used for the season ending championship run.
The World Series of Dirt Racing weekend will offer enough race points that currently everyone has a mathematical shot in the All Star class and with 240 race points on the line for the Juniors, everyone still can take home the coveted crown after October 13th.The 3 race All Star Slingshot weekend on the Raceway Park 1/5th mile and 1/2 mile will all find 120 points to each race winner. There will be NO double points for any of the WSoD races this year.National series races will be coming to a close soon with the September 8th race at Hamlin, the last Northeast event. The Maple Leaf teams still have 3 remaining events for both All Stars and Juniors with those dates being,September 14th at Autodrome Granby,September 23rd at Autodrome Drummond and the season finale at RPM Speedway on September 29th.The Sunshine Region racers have 1 race to decide their champions as on September 22nd it’s off to NW Florida Speedway in Baker,FL to end their Speedway Entertainment touring season for 2018.The Great Lakes teams took their final Great Lakes tour checkers on August 25th at Button Buck with Lilli Reps and Koby Wagner notching the victories.
As a final note, even if you did not attend any of the National Series or Super National Series events, you can still enter the World Series of Dirt Racing weekend at Selinsgrove to compete with some of the best Slingshot racers from the US and Canada.
We want to thank everyone for your support of these events in 2018 and will look into refining the touring aspects for 2019.
