Being a champion takes a lot of dedication and sacrifice to make your race team the best it can be in any race condition or on any size speedway.We consider everyone that takes even 1 lap in a Slingshot to be a champion and we appreciate each and everyone’s efforts both on the tour or at your weekly speedway.
Mother Nature was not kind to any speedway this year and some rescheduling was needed to make sure enough races were run to crown the various point champions.
The top 5 in the Northeast Region were Jared Silfee,Brett Bieber,Kyle Herve,CJ Fritz and Joey Vaccaro.In the Great Lakes spotlight were Lilli Reps,Joe Chisholm,Kolton Brauer,Gage Motl and Toby Kennedy.Out in the North Dakota area the Mountain Region and the Sunshine racers did not run an All Star group .Our competitors to the north in the Maple Leaf Region had a top 5 of Sylvain Carrier,Alexandre Lizotte,William Racine,Claudie Lizotte and Donovan Lussier.
For many of the Juniors it was a season of learning as quite a few of them were taking their 1st ever laps in a Slingshot during the 2018 season.A top 5 in the point standings was something to definitely be proud of for many of these younger drivers.
The Sunshine Region attracted a strong field of cars for all the National Series races with the top 5 being Dakota Fox,Davin Davis,Lillie Strehlow,Abbey Cauley and Lindsey Thompson. 37 drivers earned points in the Northeast Region with Kasey Hufcut leading the pack followed by Tyler Ulsh,Shelby McLaughlin,Tanner VanDoren and Aidan Donaldson.The Great Lakes Region saw 4 drivers run the events this year with Koby Wagner atop of the list with 2nd through 4th being.Chris Parmenter,Mason Stockhausen and Tucker Jacobs.The Maple Leaf Region couldn’t have been much closer as Raphael Gougeon won by just a 10 point margin over Eliot Gamache.3rd through 5th were Bryan Preville,Olivier Desrosiers and Yoan Nault.The western group running as the Mountain Region were led by Joseph Lewis who took the championship by a 15 point margin over Noah Lewis.3rd place went to Gavin Edinger with 4th and 5th to Jaidyn Edinger and Joseph Banish.
Over the course of the season over 210 drivers earned National Series points in hopes of getting a strong finish at a race or in season ending points.
