The 2019 outdoor racing season is on the cusp of kicking into high gear with track openings and plenty of test and tune sessions planned for many speedways around the U.S. and Canada.The Super National and National Series Tours have become a focal point for a few race teams looking to expand their talents at ovals other than their weekly tracks.The addition of Estevan Speedway in Saskatchewan, Canada to the Mountain Region tour will hopefully add to the competitive spirits between the US and Canada drivers.Buffalo River Speedway and Jamestown Speedway will be hosting the Super Nationals in the ND / western MN areas.
Down in the Alabama / Florida region,Tri-County Speedway has accepted the Super National tour dates of October 25th and 26th.They also will be joining Flomaton Speedway,Northwest Florida Speedway and the newly added Marion County Speedway in the National Series Tour.
National Series dates for Autodrome BSL and Stadiaume de St. Guilliume have yet to be announced but these 2 tracks will serve as the Super National Speedways on August 31st and September 1st.The National Series is currently set for racing action at Autodrome Chaudiere,Autodrome Drummond and RPM Speedway.
The Great Lakes racers currently are dealing with some after effects of flooding and torrential downpours will have their events at Button Buck Speedway and Mississippi Thunder Speedway with their Super National dates opening up that tour on June 7th at Mississippi Thunder and June 8th at Button Buck.These 2 tracks will also split 7 race dates on the National Series slate.
The Northeast racers have 14 National Series dates on the books for 2019.Several track additions will see varied track sizes and surfaces used.Mahoning Valley Speedway and Bethel Motor Park will be blacktop tracks on the schedule joining Caroga Creek and Glen Ridge Motor Park as tour additions.The Super National weekend will be held August 16th at Linda’s Speedway followed by stops at Hamlin Speedway on August 17th and closing out the tour weekend at Action Track USA on August 18th.
Most of these events will be slated for both Slingshot classes,the Juniors and the All Stars.There are some that have an All Star class only tag as the popular Slide at the Clyde VII at Lanco’s Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway in Brickerville,PA is inviting the Juniors to race as All Stars on May 26th.
The popular Speedweeks mini-series will return in 2019 with a change in track order.Selinsgrove Raceway Park will serve as the lead-in track switching Friday night duties with Linda’s Speedway.The 2019 Speedweeks schedule will be August 2nd Selinsgrove,August 3rd,Shellhammers,August 6th Reading Fairgrounds,August 7th Action Track USA,August 9th Linda’s Speedway and the series closer at Hamlin Speedway on August 10th.
The World Championship Weekend is still in the discussion stages in regards to date and track.More on that when all plans are finalized.
