The All Star and Junior Slingshots were in action on Sunday at Glen Ridge Raceway in Fultonville, Ny. A great field of Jr Slingshots were bested by Brock Pinkerous. Pinkerous took the win over Connor Hill, Matthew Backus, Adrianna DeRocher and Tavien Blowers. In the All Star racing it was Garrett Poland first to the checkered flag. Mike Hill and Brett Putnam rounded out the podium finishers.
Southern Raceway in Milton Florida had a big two race weekend. Dakota Fox stole the show winning both nights to close out the early season series for the Slingshots at the speedway. Fox bested Austin Morris and Kyndal Kimmons from the fifth starting spot on Friday night. He jumped back to it on Saturday night again getting the best of the field, but this time from the pole starting spot. Morris and Kimmons again settled for second and third.
Austin Morris wins the Friday Night Lights point standings at the speedway by just two points over Kyndal Kimmons.
In the final tune up before the Hamlin 100 Taylor Mills flexed some muscle winning the All Star Slingshot main event at Hamlin Speedway. Mills took the checkered flag over Shelby McLaughlin, Cody Kline, Pual Ennes, and Dale Kober.
Rj Sherman won the Jr Slingshot feature over Aiden Donaldson and Doug Smith Jr.
Mike McLaughlin won the Super Slingshot feature beating out John Gilroy and Dale Kober.
Brian Smith was the winners at Snydersville on Friday night over Dillon Emmons and James Benz. Charlene Benz was the Jr Slingshot winner.
RPM Speedway in Quebec was scheduled for a maple leaf tour event, but rain forced the cancelation of the event.
Button Buck, Mississippi Thunder, and Shellhammer’s all fell the rain on the last weekend in June.
This coming weekend will offer our second Super National Weekend of the year! Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND on July 4th and then Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, MN on July 6th.
Oakland Valley Speedway has been forced to postpone this weekend’s Northeast Series race on July 5. Unfortunately, a city ordinance has pushed the event to a date to be determined.
Great options remain this weekend for north east racers. The “Hamlin 100” will take place at Hamlin Speedway as well as the Slingshots in action at Lanco’s Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway in a Richie Hartman Promotion.
The Hamlin 100 will pay $1500 to Win with 35 cars; 30 cars to start. The entry fee is $75 and it is $50 to take green.
For the Firecracker race at Lanco the winner will take home $750 for a $30 car entry. The purse is guaranteed. The race will pay $60 to take the green and a pit pass is $30.
Flomaton Speedway will feature the Sunshine Series on July 4 as part of their Independence Day racing.
Buffalo River Race Park has the Super National race on July 6, but that event will also count toward the Mountain Series points as their first race of 2019 because of the rain.
Autodrome Granby has a Maple Leaf tour event on July 6.
Wednesday July 3 Shellhammer’s Speedway has the Golden Hammer race that will run 25 laps and pay $500
Afton Motorsports Park will be hosting both the Allstar and Junior Slingshots this Friday night July 5th in central New York.
Snydersville Speedway will be racing Friday. What was planned as a week off will no longer be because of all the early season rain!
Glen Ridge will also be racing on Saturday July 6 with some very interesting restored military jeeps on display.
