High heat index’s intended to steal headlines this weekend in Slingshot racing. Two speedways were able to compete.
Ryder Raynard went back to back and picked up two wins this weekend at Estevan Motor Speedway in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada. This weekend was the speedways two day Dirt Wars race spanning over both Saturday and Sunday.
Raynard has been hard to beat at the Speedway this year with over 5 victories to his credit. He is the current Slingshot point leader at Estevan.
Gavin Edinger took the checkered flag this weekend at Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, North Dakota. Edinger crossed the line in front of point leader Joseph Banish, Collin Compson, and Zander Compson.
Various race tracks in Florida, Pennsylvania, and New York canceled because of the high temperatures. The Hamlin 100 was postponed for the second time this year over the weekend. Tri County Speedway in Alabama was rained out.
The Junior Slingshots will NOT be racing this Wednesday at the Action Track USA. The Jr’s have been added to the schedule for Wednesday August 7 as part of the Troy Moyer Memorial Race.
This Wednesday is the Annual Kutztown Komet 100 for the Slingshots.
SHELLHAMMERS SPEEDWAY and the READING FAIRGROUNDS RACING HISTORICAL SOCIETY have teamed up to keep the “Reading Fair” races alive. August 3rd will see the Allstar Slingshot Speedweek event and the Jr Slingshot Junior National.
August 5th will have the Allstar Slingshots back in action for a $500 to win payout, along with the Jr Slingshot and their $250 to win event.
August 6th the Allstar Slingshots will compete in a 40 lap, Dave Cordier Sr Nostalgia National event paying $1,000 to win.
