(Myerstown, Pa) Driver’s such as Alex Yankowski have used Speedway Entertainment’s program to launch their racing career’s. Yankowski started in Junior Slingshots progressing to the All Star Slingshots and then more recently into the Speedstrs. Yankowski won his first Speedstr race at Action Track USA in 2019.
Yankowski’s path is not uncommon. Billy Pauch Jr, Billy VanInwegen, among others have used the same premise.
Earlier in the summer Speedway Entertainment announced the start of the Motorsports Career Advancement Program.
The program will be offered to World Championship Slingshot points holders for the 2020 racing season.
Through the Motorsports Career Advancement Program top teams from the 2019 World Championship point standings will earn sponsorship endorsement for every point they earn in the year’s final standings from Speedway Entertainment. This will coincide with an already very lucrative point fund for the 2019 season.
The Motorsports Career Advancement Program will feature a balance of $2 for every point earn towards USAC All Pro Speedstr products in 2020. To lay out the program more clearly, we will use the 2018 Slingshot World Champion Jared Silfee as an example. Silfee would have earned $1170 toward his efforts in forwarding his career in motorsports. The funding would support Silfee in transition to a Speedstr with the crucial financial support we so often hear about.
“If a driver is frugal with their assets, that driver could run a Speedstr season for $3,000 to $5,000,” says Speedway Entertainment president Rich Tobias. “That is unlikely to happen in any other form of auto racing.” This concept will further Tobias’ hope to give racers every opportunity possible to be successful.
Speedway Entertainment continues to be the leader in driver development in the country. There have been many drivers that have gained valuable knowledge in Slingshot racing. We hope to continue that trend into years to come, while providing a division of racing that can be a home to the weekly racer looking for enjoyment in the competition.
